Toi Batts Garth has 27 years of hands-on HR experience. She specializes in HR operations, generalist duties, recruitment, training, mergers, acquisitions, employee relations, employee and management development, talent identification, HR analysis, and strategic planning. Her entire career has been in the field of Human Resources (HR) by desire. She states, “The field of Human Resources is ever-changing, and I love the challenge.”  

 

Toi has broad HR experience which enabled her to advance in her career to HR Director or Chief HR Officer for former employers. Her broad background has enabled her to work with union negotiations, benefits analysis, EEOC responses, HR audits, diversity and inclusion, organizational management, affirmative action analysis and planning, project management, employee counseling, training delivery, HR staff development, and mentoring, and senior management partnerships. She states, “As I progressed in my career, I have always remained hands-on.” Toi considers herself to be a true HR asset. She has had the opportunity to work with private sector companies, state agencies, and federal contractors. “This experience allows me to adapt to various clients and truly support their success.” At PassionHR, Toi’s broad experience in the field of Human Resources allows her to work in interim HR leadership roles, conduct HR audits, build and support growing startups, develop processes and procedures as well as support large companies in all HR duties and responsibilities. Toi states, “I consider myself successful because I am passionate about Human Resources”. 

 

Toi received her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the Human Resource Certification Institute in 2007. She is an active member of the National Society for Human Resource Management, Middle Tennessee SHRM and Birmingham SHRM Chapters. Toi earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Alabama A&M University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Psychology from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Huntsville City Schools, and Blacks in Government. 

Toi is married to Sam, a retired Engineer, and local entrepreneur. She is the proud mother of two daughters who are recent college graduates and a son who is a student-athlete at Samford University. During her spare time, you will find Toi in the stands supporting Samford football, reading, or working with single mothers an effort that is near to her heart.
